Message from the Police Chief
We, the members of the Winchester Police Department, in partnership with all members of our community, strive for an excellence in professional law enforcement service. Our goal is to protect life and property and to instill a feeling of safety in all our citizens. The Officers of the Winchester Police Department will accomplish this mission through a higher level of criminal prevention, investigation, and apprehension in accordance with the laws of the City of Winchester and the Commonwealth of Kentucky.

Oversight
The Chief of Police Office oversees the administrative and maintenance divisions of the City of Winchester Police Department, which include department administration, the office of professional standards, and support services. These divisions report directly to the chief.
